Its Been A Long Day / Thanks Everybody!

Surgery went well, no blood loss, everything went smoothly. Dr. McAllister said that the only problem he had was closing due to Raymon's thick skin!

The difficult part of the day was the recovery room. He did not want to wake up and it took a bit longer than expected. He would wake for a few moments and then go back to sleep.

Rather than go to ICU, they took him directly from the recovery room to his hospital room.

He is now very uncomfortable, sleepy and has that after surgery cotton mouth.

Tomorrow begins the real work! Tonight, we both crash!

There is no definitive set date on when he is to leave the hospital. Today we were told from one to four days.

Thanks for your prayers and patience.

Text or email your questions and I'll try to answer all.

(There is no phone in his room and my phone gets spotty reception. I so appreciate everyones efforts to assist with communication!)

  1. WONDERFUL news! Praise God. Thank you for the update, Lindy. My computer was tiring of me hitting the refresh button on your blog today. :) <3

  2. I am so pleased that the surgery went well. Give Mr. Elephanthide a squeeze from the guys in the garage... but be selective WHERE you deliver the hug, and with how much pressure you apply. Don't want to add to the requirement for pressing the pain juice button.

A couple of questions: Was there going to be pathology done on this first surgery? When do you expect to hear the results of any pathology on the adrenal parts removed?

How long will it be before they perform surgery number two? Maybe that depends on how fast Raymon heals, and it's a "cross that bridge when you come to it" situation.

Hope the pain management goes well today, and that Raymon will be able to get out of the hospital and go home to rest and recover soon. I also hope that they keep him long enough to get the ship refloated and stable upright before they send him on his way. Don't want any return visits because of a premature launch after this kind of surgery.

Finally, take care of yourself, Lindy. While this has no doubt been a major strain on Raymon, it is also traumatic for you. You will need some recovery time too, and you really must take that time in order to be able to support the big guy over the coming recovery and "Hospital Part Two." Don't feel like you have to take the full load of normal everyday life without pausing to catch your breath. I wish I was closer so that I could take one of those dungeon laundry duty days.

    Love, Bozo2

  3. Ditto on all the questions above, especially pathology. Praying hard for his returning comfort and for a peace that passes all understanding.

  4. John and Donna are praying for complete recovery. The Elders at The Hills spent time praying for you on Wednesday evening. We never really thought he had thick skin, so glad to hear that surgery went smoothly. Please keep us posted.
